Sicario2 - Tier 1 Could be. To be fair, this sounds like an arthroscopic type procedure to remove something that may have been giving him discomfort. From the little I know, it's not that uncommon to lead to this after initial knee ops. It's just that only time will tell if it does the trick. So perhaps an off chance it could be 8-10 weeks out and lead to no progress.

KingslandBarge I wonder...did he just fell this yesterday? I mean, he had the other surgery in december, and they only realised they need to clean it up 1 week before the season started? Why didn't they do it in may or june?

It doesn't mean he is finished at all. We saw him a few days ago and he looked good. Not all knee surgery is major.

And he looked back on it in preseason. There's no reason to believe that this surgery means he's finished.

HomeSteak yeah no idea. Suppose one can only tell once in a more competitive and rigorous environment. I think he started in our first preseason game in Germany but was then in and out the squad list in America so perhaps the medical team and him wanted to try first-order solutions before going on to a more invasive, sidelining route. Or it could have been a contact-based moment, like the Araujo tackle. Who knows.

Pepe LeFrits he's definitely not finished but it does mean we need another quality addition up front so we aren't over extending him.

HomeSteak I'd imagine he's been feeling it since the surgery but they probably expected it to go away or at least improve by now. These things aren't as straight forward as we'd like to think most times.

No but losing Jesus is a big blow make no mistake about it. He was a major reason why we were hit the ground running at the beginning of last season.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Of course you're right to say Jesus was a massive part of our start to the season and I'm not saying you're wrong to be concerned about either him or the team. However, where he's concerned the process sounds minor (although I know from my own experience, knees can be tricky) and as for the team, there are a variety of options to cover for his absence.

Pepe LeFrits agree. It also sounds like his surgery is in response to the fact he hadn't actually fully recovered from the original injury (ie. rather than anything new or a recurrence).

We should be after an alternative to Saka and by all accounts we are with our interest in Kudus, but Jesus' injury changes little imo.

Pepe LeFrits I'd be happy with Kudus, he has the sort of versatility I'd like for someone in that role.

Bright side of this absence is the chance to experiment in a neutral way with our other options.

Once again I'm reminded Nketiah isn't really good enough for me to want to see him in when Jesus goes down. I think that's a bigger issue than Jesus himself.
