I think the biggest problem with Jesus is that he doesn't do the positional things you want from a center forward. Even Havertz at his worst last year, stuck in midfield and making simple passes, was running around a lot and winning duels. Martinelli at his low ebb tracks back and makes runs in behind, even if he's clumsy on the ball. There's a certain structural integrity and work rate that they bring. Jesus doesn't do any of that. He's not a focal point, and he doesn't make good runs into the channels or into the box. He doesn't fit into our system. That makes it harder to tolerate him being such a mess on the ball. And it also makes it harder to see a turnaround coming.
