This isn’t normal underperformance by one or two players, there’s multiple players - including Saka and Trossard who have been productive players in the past - that are underperforming. But more importantly, just look at the team actually playing football - the limitation is the attacking patterns that they’re asked to make. Not their individual talent. The trade off was worth it as long as we could defend well but that’s not been the case for a couple of months.
I almost regret bringing up the Wenger comparison because I sense goal posts being moved but - Adebayor, Hleb, Nasri, Walcott etc. Those teams were not successful for other reasons. Fair enough if you disagree with the names, it’s not really the point I was making here.
