Sicario2 And not looked anywhere near the level required unfortunately. He needs to massively step things up in the 2nd half of the season, especially against weaker teams

Only with the ball, off the ball he has looked way off the pace and him dropping off directly contributed to the opposition gaining possession and a route back into the game.

Gurgen nice flick when he came on but after that was really annoying. Held the ball too long, didn't press at all, jogging slowly in transition. Just doesn't look up to it at all. We are a worse team when he's playing.

Simply too slow to take on two excellent chances. I didn't see anything at all that looked better than Gyök today. Still useful to have him as a sub option while we wait on Havertz, but then we've also got Merino.

Burnwinter Gyökeres won't be loved unless he scores, and that's fair, but nobody even expects Jesus to score. He'll be praised for flicking it about instead of occupying defenders and threatening in behind. The latter looks more like donkey work because it is.

I don't think anyone loves Jesus. The only reason he's even discussed as a possible option is that he's temporarily fit and because "he occupies defenders" is the nicest thing we can manage to say about our newest striker.

I don't mind Jesus being there so that as Gyökeres tires he's an option. Thought Gyök was a mite unlucky not to score today too. As was Saka.

From what I recall, as I was a younger man the last time Havertz was uninjured for a month, Havertz was quite a bit more effective than Gyök when fit.

Havertz is quite a lot better in the aerial duels, and also better with ball at feet. He's still far from an ideal striker but I'm keen to see him back in action. It feels to me like we're inches away from scoring loads of goals at the moment.

I think so too. We are creating plenty. Eventually someone is going to hit a run of goalscoring form and enjoy the confidence it brings.

Personally (and this is caveated by the fact I didn't see today's game) I think I just enjoy someone who can link up with those around him. Even if he's not scoring, I can see him improving our attack where as I don't see Gyokeres adding anything currently other than a vague notion of 'presence'.

Don Pacifico Well struck shots on target should have some say, Gyökeres had a couple today which our Saviour certainly didn't.

I feel Gyokeres is quite close to either going on a good scoring run or collapsing forever. Best thing we can do is keep playing him.

Gurgen he’s running out of lives, that’s the problem. Also I notice Saka neglects to pass to him more times than not.

Jesus is finished physically but is still a baller - cameo subs just about ok(for now).

Agree, last few games we’ve been creating a lot and it’s not like the guys up front have no goalscoring pedigree. They’ve all hit serious numbers before. Our luck has to turn if we keep creating chances.
