flobaba yep same, great dribbler, great moves and from time to time he can hit a ball the right way like he did when he hit the bar last night. But then, most chances he will hit so bad, from easy positions, he will do everything right and then just kinda pass the ball to the keeper.

And he's got no sangfroid when chances fall to him either. Hitting the crossbar doesn't bode well or anything, to me that shot was closer to hinting he still doesn't have it. And I've got nothing against him, but I still think we should sell if there's any chance to do it.

Gurgen just having a striker who can actually fashion an opening for himself is literally incredible.

Anyway, not going to get my hopes up but it would be awesome if he could stay fit until his inevitable sale next summer.

Yeah I don't see it that way any more. We used to talk about Jesus that way, and he's an elite talent, but over time we need a player at 9 who's both durable and scores 1 in 2 while making the necessary tactical contributions. Find that player and we'll win bags of trophies. Jesus is brittle and a very inconsistent finisher, and I don't see that changing.

Imagine having an Eduardo da Silva as back up these days. We really need our talent scouts to get busy and find some of these Eastern European /low profile country hidden gems.

I don't really see much upside in letting him go in January. We need another option at 9 right now and I don't see us getting anyone useful in January. If he has a useful few months for us it'd be easier to shift him in the summer.

Also, if he has a good few months for us, I could see it serving as a useful guide to the sort of player this team needs at 9, even if he isn't the long term solution, sort of like the way Jorginho signposted the need for Zubimendi; a left side biased, creative, hard working forward who knits our play together and brings out the best in our LW and balances out the right side bias.

USArsenal They're aren't any, but Havertz and Gyökeres possibly could be. Jesus won't ever be, and we've seen it. I'm sure we have no chance of selling him anyway.

Burnwinter I guess this is key. I agree with your evaluation of Jesus's missing capabilities, but I disagree that this means we have to sell him because I think every one of our strikers has missing capabilities - especially the Swede.

I don’t believe Gabriel Jesus has the killer instincts or
medical report to lead the line for us but it’s painful how far ahead he is of Gyokeres, Havertz and maybe even Merino as a footballer.
