A fit Jesus is 3rd or 4th choice at this point. Just get him healthy, let him play a few minutes here and there (when and if he can even get into the team sheet) and then he's gone in the summer. (or January if we can somehow manage it)

Wise thing to do will be to sell him soon as he is fit again. There are many teams who can do with a striker with his skill set as a low block lock picker. Don't think we should bother with managing his minutes, fitness, form or wages any longer if we don't have to.

So you watched prime R9 and you're posting this foolishness? Or maybe you think post knee surgeries R9 was his prime. We never saw a prime R9 age wise because he was effectively done by 23 and no longer capable of the explosive 90s performances.

What numbers do you have to support this? And forget eye test, I watched those games as well and we clearly have a dramatic difference in opinion so settle it with numbers. And if you think 90s R9 wasn't about numbers then I don't know what to say. Jesus with bionic knees wouldn't come close to the explosiveness of 90s R9. And forget finishing ability, which was so good that even with bad knees he carved out a pretty good 00s portion of his career.

I don't need a refresher, I watched those games already. Give me numbers. I want to see how I somehow missed watching 90s R9 at Arsenal. And I'm sure Brazilian fans would want to know how they didn't realize they had Fenomeno heading into the Qatar WC.

Meatwad listen I said first theee months he was playing like R9 im not talking career v career. I was at the stadiums this time 3 years ago and Gabby was literally getting people out of their seats. He was the main reason we had a blistering start that year.

Of course 3 months is not enough to make a real comparison. R9 is one of the greats of all time but for that short period we had a legit Brazilian number 9 playing for us and it was surreal.

I am talking about those 3 months. I want to see the numbers in those 3 months that reflect 90s R9 ability. I know you wouldn't be stupid enough to compare their careers, so give me some credit. This is just about those 3 months, so you only have to show the numbers for 3 months to prove your point, but you can't so you're just going to keep repeating the same bullshit in hopes I just accept it. But I won't accept that R9 slander, that's a bridge too far. I'll go as far and say you can't even find 1 game (not 3 months worth) that was 90s R9 like.

We were sublime in the opening games of that season. Zinchenko was balling and we had integrated Saliba in to the team as well

Yes he's a lousy goalscorer, even during that run of form.

I still love his natural talent though, I wish he could somehow get back fully healthy and stay that way, and be reintegrated into the team.

He may not see himself outside the club until his contract expires, but the club might have other ideas. Im sure most of us feel the club wants to get him healthy, let him play a little, and then try to offload him to someone who wants to buy him. We need someone more reliable and who is on much less wages for a player that only plays a couple games a season.

The romantic view would be he returns from injury, he's able to contribute meaningfully a few times off the bench or even starting on the way to a major trophy success, and then we sell.

The unromantic and rather grim view would be any version of that which doesn't work out in any way.

If Havertz is recovering properly I'd be happy if we somehow moved Jesus on cheaply in winter to get fit for the World Cup. If not perhaps we're stuck with him.
