Yeah. I don't see anything about our play that suggests we're riding our luck with goals or that we're reliant on someone on a hot streak. If anything the common consensus is we're not making enough of our chances.

Only thing that will slow us down is injuries.

I know. We are doing well, and he contributes greatly with his hard work and closing down and nuisance factor, but I need my striker to score goals. I’m old school like that.

Different environment, different team, different team mates, different everything. Could be a welcomed break for him mentally.

Yeah the game I watched that assist is clearly Vieira’s.

I don’t know what folks are jumping to his defense, I’m not saying he is a bad player.

But there will be games where we’ll need the striker to just bang one in to make things much easier. Like today. Odegaard stepped up once again fortunately, but to me that just papers over the cracks.

Gabriel Jesus is Arsenal’s top striker, and we will need the goals to eventually start coming from him to sustain a true title challenge in my opinion.

Couldn’t disagree more on Odegaard/goal sharing papering over cracks. Having a team where you have multiple goalscorers contributing makes you make more resilient. Look what happened when Adebayor stopped scoring in 07/08, that was it. Game over.

Jesus’ turn to contribute with goals will come, lads having 4+ shots a game, it’s inevitable. But in the meantime the impact he has on our attacks and the burden he carries is immense.

He was unlucky today with that shot that hit the post.

He's having a bad run in front of goal but like what Quincy said he's one of the big reason we are challenging

For me I'm not so concerned given he's still getting chances on top of everything else he provides. I'd be a lot more worried if he was doing the gruntwork like Lacs but going games without a single shooting opportunity.

He’s a livewire with his dribbling and shit. And I don’t know what’s the deal with him fending off defenders twice his size, he seems to easily hold them off the ball and wins the high balls all the time. Wonder if they underestimate him becos of his size or is he really astute about using his body but it’s so strange to see.. and cool.

It's a fair criticism to say that he needs to score more than he has in recent weeks to be mentioned alongside the best strikers. He'd probably say that himself. But it's also pretty obvious that he's stitched our attack together - tonight was a good example - and a big part of why we're challenging. It's not like he's ineffectual either, he's still managed 5 goals and 5 assists which is more than what we were working with last season.
