When you compare goals to expected goals how advanced his position on the pitch is, is kind of irrelevant. You've already taken that into consideration.
He will go through ups and down this season, I'm sure you could probably pick a 10 game stretch throughout last season where the difference will appear a lot larger... or smaller, its not a great sample size
So yeah, you could say in these initial games he is worse than the average of all of last season, it doesn't really have much meaning though...
Agree on the position, was more a general comment on my expectations with regards to his goal scoring. Still expect him to get better in that regard
