any remaining doubts that he can create for himself and others? he's been more of a facilitator then a finisher for us so far
I always new he was a facilitator but I'm genuinely surprised by his ability to create for himself. The way he's playing for us is not how he played for City. Pep wasn't allowing him to dribble. He's unreal at beating people. He was dead right to move, no way he loses his Brazil place now. What a player. Happy to say I totally underrated him.
He played very similarly for City with regards to dribbling and creating chances. People were critical of him because he wasn't completely flawless for a City side that has won 4 titles in recent years, and should have also won the CL at some point. Standards, quality of teammates and expectations are much higher, so people were more critical and most were unjustly fixated on league goals anyway. We on the other hand are a team floundering outside of the CL spots. It's the exact same reason that Zinchenko looks great, too.
We're a team that's overall much lower than City so those same players who looked good for City will look sensational for us because their relative value to their new teammates is much higher, given that our overall quality is much lower than the players they previously played with. In other words, they stand out more and look much better. It's hard to pay much attention to Jesus in a team where De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva, Silva and others are killing it. Sanchez impressed under similar circumstances, while Cesc is a good example of a player of the reverse situation when a big fish goes to an even bigger pond and no longer looking all that amazing.
