There is a lot of criticism of Arteta and Edu bringing in players like Vieira but let’s be real. If you want the real finished article you need to pay £70-100m, as we saw with the pricing around Bellingham, Rice and even unfinished players like Caicedo and Mudryk.
So it’s fine for the team to go out and try a bunch of £20-35m players like Kiwior, Vieira, Lokonga, Odegaard etc with the knowledge that not all of these guys will succeed. Some will blow up, others will fail. We just need a process in place that gives them opportunities to play (here or elsewhere) and be moved on if fail. Both lokonga and Vieira have had lots of opportunities. But it’s probably still inconclusive given their top level exposure overall
