RocktheCasbah thats pretty cool, I can only appreciate the cultural institution as a naturalised citizen with no direct affiliation. Must be a bittersweet feeling to view its ugly complexions more stark as a grown up vs. as a child in your formative years.
Coverage of UK invasions, apartheid regimes over the years indicated to me that the BBC is anything but impartial. I vaguely understand a moderate threat of being defunded has hung over their head and resulted in a lack of independence and sycophancy. However I had no idea that senior leadership was so blatantly in Tory pockets.
I am definitely distressed by how pervasive the Tory circle is across industries and sectors, and wary to find out just how culpable they are for the decade+ road paved with poor/corrosive decisions outside of direct governance. Definitely hope the solutions are for these old boy circles to age out, renewed protections to right of speech, right of protest, right of citizenship, and as you say for a change in leadership.
