Qwiss I agree with this take actually. But he has a bit of sparkle. He was never going to be the finished article on his debut. He'll learn, he'll grow. Plus he doesn't even really want to be there.

What impressed me a lot was his link play and touch (outside the box). He played a lot of great little quick short passes and his touch, excluding two opportunities in the box, was silky. His pace is unreal too. He reminded me of Reyes when he first came here; his talent is undeniable and potential huge, but he had 40 minutes where he was given acres of space against a 40 year old full-back and then a full-back who has no interest in being a full-back and kept giving him the flank all to himself, and didn't produce that much. He looks a super talent but there's no guarantee he'll prove to be a great buy.

flobaba I know what you mean but we are a much more tightly run ship nowadays. I don't have a problem with that and it has got us to the top of the league. We've cleared out the deadwood and the club is being run within its means, means long term even if the Kroenke's leave we will be on a sustainable footing.

Chelsea giving out 8 year contracts to get around the rules, it makes a mockery of the rules.

flobaba Agree there. Just found after that first good dribble he was making runs in space without much coming of it and people were acting like he'd taken over the game. Certainly has potential. How soon he'll start realising it is still a big question.

Clrnc agreed. Gakpo looks average, never quite saw the big deal myself. He's also very unlike what a Klopp forward looks like. No intensity at all.

I almost didn't watch the game purely because I didn't wan't to see Mudryk. This one's going to hurt unfortunately. We're just lucky we have a few superb talents of our own, helps to soften to blow.

Qwiss symptom of the poor intensity imo. He's good technically so if it's not showing it's because he's not able to play at his slower pace and is rushing things.

Clrnc something I said before. Gakpo is a guy you use to get into the top 4. Mudryk is the bet you take to win things. Mudryk has abilities that Premier League defenders can’t keep up with.

Sounds like we had a cash flow issue on him. It’s just annoying that we have to deal with Abramovich again
