It's hardly ever judged thay way, the player is ahead of the ball in most situations and is judged relative to the position of the opposition defenders. It's when there are none that the position of the ball comes into effect, and I think it's daft. If you play the ball to a teammate behind you it shouldn't be offside. It's a lot easier for a player to instinctively tell whether their teammate is behind them than whether their teammate is behind the ball between their legs. Needlessly punishes the attacking team who aren't getting any unfair benefit.

Pepe LeFrits I'm not saying that this is a case that happens often, I'm saying that when they draw the offside line it's never been drawn where the ball is and compared to the most furthest part of the player who is potentially offside (as long as that body part can touch the ball within the rules).

Clrnc agreed. Gakpo looks average, never quite saw the big deal myself. He's also very unlike what a Klopp forward looks like. No intensity at all.

I almost didn't watch the game purely because I didn't wan't to see Mudryk. This one's going to hurt unfortunately. We're just lucky we have a few superb talents of our own, helps to soften to blow.

Clrnc something I said before. Gakpo is a guy you use to get into the top 4. Mudryk is the bet you take to win things. Mudryk has abilities that Premier League defenders can’t keep up with.

Sounds like we had a cash flow issue on him. It’s just annoying that we have to deal with Abramovich again

The only positive is our scouts knew their shit and this is why we were prepared to go so high for him.

It’s obviously gonna sting watching him play and do well for Chelsea. But financially they’re fucking mental and probably would have kept going higher. No guarantee even matching their offer would have sealed it

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert greats a massive exaggeration. Hype in this thread is completely OTT. Had as many loose touches as decent moments. Looked like he was struggling to deal with the pace of the passes coming to him. I'm sure he'll adapt though.
