Big Willie I don't think that makes him vindictive. Why would you want to keep players and/or personalities that don't fit or buy into what you're trying to archive?
By the same token I don't think it has anything to do with revenge for being turned down in the first place. It's about sensing who's actually excited by the idea of joining and has the right mentality. @Gunner89 might be right about Felix so who knows, but the evidence doesn't look great as far as his motivations go.
