Haven't heard of that, but it's definitely not uncommon to care just about football bets and not about roulette.

I guess. It's just hard for me to sympathize with a guy whose addiction is specifically tied to the one tournament in all the world where it's illegal for him to bet. If this is a real addiction that he has nothing to do with I'll feel bad about saying this, but it's just hard to imagine.

Sure, but perhaps you're not really imagining the logic that could be at play here. Could be that risking his career makes it more fun, or that it's much more satisfying betting on the one league he knows well. Both would be humdrum reasons according to the run of these things.

Every addiction is regarded by at least some others as a transgression of sorts, if it's not we just call it "discipline" or "a great habit".

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. My knowledge in this field is very limited and I'm just saying that from what little I know it's hard for me to feel sympathy for him in regards to this.

Almiron has a big over-performance in xG right now, if we are rewarding him for being a scorer, so that's why I omit him

Haaland's over-performance in xG is enormous. That's what happens when you put away more of your chances than most players would've.

We know from his history he’s not a big scorer. We know from Haaland’s history he’s a big scorer. This reminds me of Willock. Remember even I said we should sell Willock, he wasn’t a scorer. And there was a massive furore that we couldn’t afford to lose goals from midfield.

That's why I would never want us to buy Almiron. He's unlikely to repeat this form. Not sure how that's relevant to how he's done so far this season though. My team of the season so far is not me making a bet on what the future team of the season will look like.

Is that Lisandro Martinez at centre half? No way he's had a better season than Gabriel, last couple of games the latter has been even better than Saliba. Trippier ahead of White is controversial at least too.

There's nothing special about having more/less players. One thing about us is that every player in the starting XI has performed very well, so there's not that much separating the worst performer from the best.

For example, Xhaka isn't far behind Bruno. Same with Gabriel/Martinez, White/Trippier, Martinelli/Trossard. Meanwhile Newcastle typically don't have any contenders in the positions where other players were chosen.

Gabriel hasn't had the howlers Martinez has had, I think the hype around him is largely because he started so poorly and bounced back but no way he's been better than our centre halfs.

I'm not having Trossard over Saka either.
