Point is we're very used to United doing drastic and expensive things that are supposed to fix their problems, but it's been a lot of years with very little luck so far.
That's certainly true but no-one's saying they'll win the league or even genuinely challenge. I don't think any of the running pack have it in them to post a 90-point season to even come close. The standards today are so ridiculously high, it's a miracle that Liverpool even got close and succeeded once. They also happened to fall on the best manager not named Pep, and completed transfer business that was Wenger-like value for money.
Back to United, I'm talking about their ability to challenge for top 4, which they seem more than capable of doing. Especially, having secure it on several occasions in the last however many years. Teams that compete for 4th are generally flawed and have issues. Like us, like Tottenham, like Chelsea, like Man Utd. That's why we're competing for 4th and not the title, as there are gaps in the team/squad that haven't been properly addressed or just lacks quality.
