I'm becoming mildly obsessed with this United game. Would feel tremendously meaningful to stuff them by two or three goals, open up a 9 point gap and carry on our streak. They're shit and really shouldn't be able to hang with us on current form, but it'll require our better chances to find the net.

Think United have made all the right decisions to address their failings.

Replaced Maguire with Martinez.
Replaced Fred with Eriksen.
Replaced McTominay with Casemiro.
Dropped C.Ronaldo and brought in Antony.

They're definitely going to be a threat for top 4 again. I'm not as sure about Chelsea as they've had way too much turnover this summer, and Tottenham will be Tottenham, so it's going to be a tight race.

Out of all those only dropping Maguire really moves the needle long term.

They'll improve but this is the hardest league on the planet, a thirty-something Madrid midfield general and a guy who's really big in the Eredivisie is only improvement, not a game changer. Ronaldo scored 18 last season ...

Their biggest advantage this season will be not having Champions League to worry about.

As for Sunday, who knows ... we'll be arriving in a zone of chaos.

United couldn't move Ronaldo so he's not going to sit quietly as a back up now. I'd be slightly surprised of Erikson starts against us, can he manage that many games in a week? Would they be brave enough to play him deep against us? I still think they've an incredibly mediocre squad, its just a very expensive mediocre squad.

I reckon Tottenham did some of their summer business in January to ensure top 4, which obviously worked. They wouldn't even need to improve on their form after that to get it again, they need to replicate it this season.

Replacing McTominay and Fred with Casemiro and Eriksen is a crazy improvement.

I remember last summer when getting Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo was crazy improvement too.

That doesn't mean that every season they replace players with what one would assume are better players they'll end up worse though.
