Yeah to be honest that sounds well dodgy. You use jackets, shirts, fucking sticks and stones to make goals. Not disputing that he grew up poor but that also doesn't mean he's not always been full of shit.

Probably full of shit as usual, but to be fair when we used jackets, shoes, cones etc. we played without GKs so there wasn't much finishing. Usually the ball also had to be on the ground while crossing the goal line as well.

Plus I’ve been to villages in Bangladesh that can only be classed as very poor and they’re usually quite resourceful. Many of them could barely afford shoes but they managed to make themselves a badminton court and a 5 a side pitch using a bits of wood and a net.

Yeah the fact that you score goals on the streets or in the park doesn't mean you will have a well honed shooting technique for professional level football. That usually needs to be developed in the right environment.

Look where? In the back of Arteta’s broom closet? All the established or near established top strikers are well known to everyone, and all will cost a bomb. If we are looking elsewhere it’s probably not because of the price point, but some other factor.

If you can throw 50m on Ben White, on what is essentially a backup CB when Saliba is back, then 85m on a starter striker should be nothing.

Think we have to look for someone who we can turn into a world class player rather than signing someone who is. We used to be much smarter about these things, but then again that was back when we had a manager who could actually turn talents into great players.

It's not like Osimhen is a world class striker either way. He has the talent and most of the attributes but he has never produced consistently on a high level, and he's injury prone to boot.
