Well yes, from reading the threads on Raphinha and Jesus it's pretty apparent that the argument works whichever way is needed

Well that's just it, the argument gets made that moving to a better team won't make a difference to Raphinha's output but with Jesus, playing for a better team makes it easier to score and his output should be higher

If we expect that both their numbers continue like they have done so far they're nothing special. That's not working the numbers in any direction.

That would only really be a good argument if Jesus had any where close to enough goals last season. City want £60m for a guy who scored 8 goals. The argument from people who agree with that move is he will score more with us. With Raphina the argument is that we shouldn't spend the £65-75m Leeds want because he only scored a goal more than ESR last season. Unless you think both are going to score significantly more I don't see why you'd pay those massive fees. Neither are at an age where you'd expect some natural development either.

Sometimes players are more/less productive at different clubs due to a myriad of factors unrelated to the overarching quality of the squad but can broadly be summarised as either fitting in or not fitting in.

Fingers crossed any player we sign falls into the former.

I just hope we don't watch first hand 50 million spent on Jesus unfold into a season full of limpish chipped crosses into the box by Tierney and Soares. This guy could be really good for us though, mainly his pace matched with technique that can sort of keep up. I have to dig deep into mind archives to remember that and even those might be delusions or have minor basis. As others have mentioned though, why if we have Nketiah.
The pursuits for Isak, Vlahovic, Abraham, Raul de Tomas, and Jesus seemed to come from credible sources. Theres at least two type of profiles in that selection. I really hope we're looking to satisfy both types in the same window.

Thats like 330k a week and a little more if we get CL. He is not worth that, not even close. Not the transfer fee not the wages. If we are really ready to pay that much, we can get someone better, not that I don't rate him but this is just to much.

280kpw in GBP, that's not steep that's outrageous. Would put him in the top 10 in the league, even at City only de Bruyne Grealish and Sterling are on that much.

That sounds like its completely made up. There is no way they'll pay that to a centre forward who just had an 8 goal season. I don't have a ton of faith in Josh and Edu but they aren't that stupid.

There's no way that can be real 😆 Imagine giving Auba away for free only to replace him with someone a fraction as good who's on virtually the same wages, who comes with 50-60 million in transfer fees on top.

People keep on saying we can get someone better, but aside from Osimhen, who else is there?

People baulking at the fee of 50m and the wages are ignoring that Osimhen moved to Napoli for 70 odd million and will likely cost 100m. That's 100% more in transfer fees.

Furthermore, I don't think spending near 100m on a player who missed 16 Napoli games last season and 23 games the season before through injury is a good idea.

I'd love to see a list of all the better and more attainable strikers out there that we get instead.

Personally I’m excited to sign Jesus. Recon he’d be a good fit and he’ll goal plenty.
