I think experience is the driving factor for Arteta. For as long as he possibly can he opts for older players over the young and hungry lads. We've bought a lot of experience in the shape of Luiz, Willian, Cedric, and so forth. It took our worst run in Premier League history to stop trusting Willian as the creative hub of the team. Lacazette would probably still be playing too if he hadn't forced the decision-making by getting sick.
With Jesus I think it's where he comes from and his experience from the environment at City that is appealing. He was a big talent a couple of years ago, but like Jones and Qwiss says he can't stake a claim for himself in a squad with no strikers. They beat Leeds 5-1 yesterday and he didn't even get off the bench. Fair to him if he's moving because they just bought Haaland and he wants to be first choice, but Haaland isn't there at the moment and Jesus still can't get a game. It feels like Pep has had years to get a good look at him by now. If City still don't think he's worth giving significant playing time to then he's probably not that good. If he had this profile at Everton a lot fewer people would want him, and probably none if the quoted fee was €50 million. Clubs aren't exactly fighting over Richarlison at the moment.
