Sterling is not as dynamic as he was a few years back, he has noticeably slowed down, and is not good enough in finishing, or holding players off him.

He will always get into dangerous areas, but playing in a worse team (us), he would have to up his performance.

As always price comes into it, but I would barely go over £30-35mil, and I’m sure City would want a lot more.

This is a transfer that has Newcastle written all over it.

On the one hand, replacing Pepe with Sterling doesn't seem outrageous. But he seems to favor playing on the left and I see no reason to stunt Martinelli/ESR with minutes given to Sterling.

Thing being he wouldn't be replacing Pepe if he was to play on the right, he'd be replacing Saka.
The other consideration being if Arteta wanted inverted wingers as opposed to being inverted forwards, then that would have Saka on the left and Sterling on the right.

He's not that young in football years, became a starter when he was very young and will age similarly to Rooney or Fabregas, probably even worse since he relies on his pace a lot more than either.

This guy peaked early. He's still good but we need someone at their peak if we're going to get an established player. I'd rather Jesus over him.

Biggest problem would be he's going to want a stupid wage. There's still potential to get 20+ goals a season from him but its too big a risk for the sort of money that'd be involved I think. I'm sure he'll do fine at Newcastle.
