Clrnc more to do with the fact Liverpool were so good that they were an outlier. They were so fucking dominant that season. 76 out of 78 points is insane from the start of the season. They were 22 points ahead of City in second who were having an average title challenging season.

Don't think the poster should be using them at all to show improvement unless you want to say City improved so much that they were 22 points behind, and are now only 2 point behind with a game in hand.

Yeah that start by Liverpool was absolutely fucking mental, don't think we'll see anything like that again soon. What was jokes was their next 12 games they picked up 23 out of 36 games somehow didn't manage to finish with over 100 points! Though I think COVID stopping the season defo played a part in that.

I remember when they randomly lost to Watford 3-0 just before COVID and social media was on fire that day, every Arsenal fan sending Liverpool fans a photo of our gold trophy as everyone thought Liverpool would go unbeaten😆

Yes, we have improved under Arteta but using the fact we were 42 points behind Liverpool says more about them than anyone else. That's all I was saying.

Would have been better to take the distance between us and City that season like you mentioned as that is normal pace for title challengers. We have improved from the absolute shitshow we produced that season. But the truth is we were shit that season before and after Emery was sacked including under Arteta that season (the FA Cup was great though.

We’ve improved loads and have broken through one of the hardest ceilings in becoming consistent title challengers (hopefully). There’s no real need to micro analyse beyond that.

That Liverpool run was crazy though.
