Sad, but not surprised, to see the amount of negativity regarding Arteta's extension here. We've been watching ones if the most likeable teams we've had for years in the most engaged Emirates we've had for literally fifteen years and Arteta and the course correction which has been undertaken is a key reason for that.
Yes, he's made mistakes, no, he isn't perfect, but he's had two and a half years to learn on the job and now he's created a a platform from which he and - more to the point - the team can kick on. I was interested to hear Amy Lawrence compare him to George Graham because, for me, the job Arteta has done is very much in line with what GG did after he arrived in 1986 in broadly similar circumstances. And, if you can set aside a brown envelope (as he should have done), George didn't turn out too badly.
