It would have been comforting if we at least had summer conversations with likes of Zidane, Mancini, Potter, Viera, Enrique, Bielsa before making any commitments. However, given that the relationship with Arteta has been promoted as one of deep trust, bound to a short/medium term project, even such due diligence conversations may have made that standing seem hollow and contradictory.
Thing is, what we are aiming to do seems quite clear to me. Only two folks on that list that are thriving in superior fashion.
