So basically you agree that what he said was (i) insulting or (ii) stupid. I cannot conceive other way of perceiving his words.
Was it insulting to me? I was mildly offended for a moment and then promptly returned to a state of depression with all things Arsenal, not really giving a shit about much till the whistle blows tommorow. I trust 90% of Arsenal fans including Arteta and players are deeply unsatisfied with where Arsenal sits this afternoon.
Is it useful to proclaim and put it out that the season is a failure with one match day to go, with whatever degree of risk that a player from tommorows 18 hearing that may diminish? Or that a bunch youngins anxious ridden with a disaster of an end to the season could benefit from a dose of public encouragement? They’re certainly not going to get it from anyone else. May be in these cases it’s becomes the less stupid thing to say. I’d have to know what the question was to make a better judgement. Perhaps the best answer should have been a polite decline for reflection, again with a match day to go.
He’s a gigantic tosser for putting them through this (underequipping for a great chance at top four, alienation, rotation plus more), but I’ll save that outrage for later.
