This effort to turn Cristiano into a Spanish player in return for 160 million Euros that will go towards reducing Portugal's debt has to be the biggest thing in football since Bosman. Once the Arab states get wind of this, every nation will be at risk of losing its players. What do you guys think of this significant development in world football?
I think 2nd april can't come soon enough.
Damnit, Klaus. Why can't the first guy to respond be thick as a brick. Gotta get the smart guy writing :-)
First joke I've seen today actually.
pretty bad one. at least make it plausible...
It's still the 31st where I am. I had not even thought about April Fools Day. My first reaction was that the Indy had been hacked when I saw that article. Madness
I like the idea though.
With the amount of debt Taoiseach Bertie Perez helped us accrue, we'd surely have qualified for a couple of tournaments.
How much could we get for Rooney, Terry and Ashley Cole?
Ugh, no thanks. We have enough toxic assets as it is.
Question should be can England buy Bale and Ramsey? How much would that cost?
I don't know how much Ramsey would cost, but I'm sure the wildlife charities run adopt a monkey schemes from a few pounds a month, far cheaper than it would be to buy Bale and probably with better communication skills.
As long as the hundred English words he knows closely match the hundred words Capello knows, all should be fine.
we're all veterans here of the April Fools thing.. most of us will know that anything posted today will be a farce.. that's something one could get away with "over there" (like thegame24's claim that he has some inside knowledge of big news that will break about our team over the summer)
Most football news posted on any given day is a farce to some extent or another, upping the level of that on one set day each year is becoming increasinly more difficult.
Has anyone ever fallen for a proper April fools prank?
Only time I remember when I was younger Teletext put up a screen of scrambled colours and said if you look long and hard enough you'll see a picture, me and my brother spent ages looking at it 🙁
I walk into them actually - tend to be rather gullible outside of certain narrow pursuits (like work).
If players could be transferred between countries ... international football would still be an irritating distraction at this time of year.
I still remember that epic Salpac Cygan saga back in 2004 or so on AM. Fooled sooo many people.
shit joke, not because i don't appreciate april fool's humor, but spain is in the shit themselves, they need to sell off their whole damn team.
