Pretty sure the PL is nowhere near the biggest competition to anyone in the Balkans. Italy has more historically big clubs, the great Yugoslav players of the 90s all played there, weather and culture are much closer to home. London is great but Torino (and Milan which is closeby) aren't shabby either. Neither of those factors are anything to do with Arsenal specifically anyway.

Not to say you couldn't sell Arsenal to big players we clearly still attract players by our name only but Juve are still on another level for most players.

We haven't been in UCL for half a decade and not even in Europe now. Don't even need to compare us with Juve and the calibre of players they have. And the reputation of their manager. It's a no brainer nobody will choose us over them. We are ridiculously irrelevant in Europe currently for players

Big statement signing, wonder who they'll sell to balance the books. Morata will be definitely sent home but he's trash anyway. Dybala is 100% off now you have to assume, he's been inconsistent but when on it he could be massive for almost any team in the world.

I read that juve offered dybala a new deal, but pulled it off the table in the last month or so. wonder if vlahovic joining means he's on the way out

Even in our prime Juventus is a huge club anyway.

I mean it's pretty clear Vlahovic and his reps had already spoken with Juve, hence why they could afford to blank everyone else.

Juventus would have been talking with Vlahovic for aaages.

And I think he's a fool because the Premier League is where it's at. It's where all the money is, where the elite coaches are, and where most of the elite players are. The strongest League in the world by far, and I am not one to crow about England and all that rubbish. It's just a fact.

Juve don't exactly offer bad wages either. It's annoying that when we had to status to sign top talent we didn't offer the big money, and now that we offer the big money we don't have the status.

Same with the players. Juve is the kind of club that can sign Cristiano Ronaldo; Arsenal isn't. People can scoff at that all they want but it's a fact, just like it's a fact that they're in Champions League every season while we aren't even in Europa League at the moment.

Either way, my suspicion is that Vlahovic wouldn't have looked half as good in Premier League. I think the Jovic rumours are a lot more interesting.

I'd be really happy with giving the Jovic renaissance project a go. Much rather that than someone like DCL.

That's how it reads to me as well. Juventus seems a bit unambitious from a global perspective, but I suppose money-wise the CL offers a bigger profile for sponsorship opportunities that may more than make up for the discrepancy in wages.

I watched him closely in the Europa League in 2018/2019 and he looked like a baller.

Any reason why he’s struggled so badly at Madrid?

Hope he’s not the striker equivalent of like signing someone like Ceballos.
