I can sort of see how a player might believe Potter's going to turn it all around if he's backed. I'm sure people will be ringing time on Potter when the season returns, but surely he's not as bad a manager as they've looked?

If I were a Chelsea fan it would worry me hugely that Todd Boehly's worth one third as much as Stan Kroenke. First time those scum have been poorer than us in a long time, and as a club with fuck all history they've not got much reason to stay at the top table.

Just re-checked and it's mind-boggling they're 16 points behind us after 14 played.

You assume footballers and their agents do a lot of thinking before joining a club.

Why wouldn't a young footballer be attracted to Chelsea. They've won tons of league titles, European Cup and Europa League in the last few years. While we were peaking with FA Cups. We are probably about the 5th English club of choice for players of his age given our exploits during his formative years.

And why should he care more about the past situation than the current? It's not the same Chelsea. They aren't an "institution" like United and Liverpool, they were synonymous with their ownership.
