Dunno, but I read some article saying King Power's lost more than half its value since the pandemic … so their motives could be very odd. Rodgers has obviously been told there's nothing at all to spend as he's been alluding to it all summer.

Genuinely feel for him, that's his top level career done now. Torn his ACL for the second time, complicated foot break and shoulder dislocation with several torn ligaments, covid twice last season for good measure. He's just turned 25 and after his return from this injury he'll have missed almost three years of football already, how unlucky can you get.

Doesn't make sense from his perspective either. He'd basically secured a Haaland-type deal where his release clause is lower than his actual value so more money could be going into his own pocket. And he could've gone to a much better club as well.

He and Havertz are similar in where they want to play, and I don’t see either hitting their ceiling if they’re moved to other positions.

I 'd be very ok with this. Only if they started going after Leao,Felix, Toney, or Vlahovic that I'd start getting worried about their front line.

Gakpo has a lot more upside than Toney

No guarantee he come good, but I think he’ll be a very solid player. Seems to have a nice blend of attributes to n that he can create and score, and he’s pretty balanced across attacking attributes in that he’s got a good shot, scores in crowded box, and can head.

I really don't see it with Toney. Think he's at his ceiling. Gakpo is certainly interesting, but could just as easily end up having a fairly uneven career like Martial.
