I think he's our third-best midfielder on a good day and thus should probably start, but it's between him and Lacazette who's by far the least important part of the starting 11. The talk of him being essential to out Top 4 chances or even our best midfielder I completely disagree with, his stupidity cost us against City, it cost us against Liverpool, and it will cost us again before long. That's the trap. He has a few decent games, and he really hasn't been better than decent, and you convince yourself we need him to make the team tick, and then he goes and gifts someone a goal, gets himself sent off or starts some other drama and everyone's furious again. He's not worth the risk. Never has been, never will be. The game against City finally convinced me of that, and he went and doubled down on it against Liverpool. It's going to take more than an okay game against Brentford to change my mind.
