I don't think he was in charge of transfers at Ajax, and considering that they bought two of his former players, it looks like he has much more influence at United. No matter if it works or not, I think it tells us that United didn't have a more thought out plan than getting a manager who was doing well.

Hopefully his talent radar is way off, which it seems like since he wanted Antony so badly after having spent all that time with him.

The thing about Antony is that he appears to be a moron, not just a bit one-dimensional on the pitch, but someone who'd be one-dimensional when he said hello in the morning. If ten Hag is enthused by signing characters like that he'll struggle

It's been well documented recently the even the UK Government put pressure on the PL to approve the Newcastle takeover because the Saudi's threatened to hold back £30bn worth of investment into the UK if they didn't. When you read stuff like that, you realise it's much bigger than football.

I'm resigned to it, just hope regulations are tight enough to stop them from outright cheating. The outcome of the City charges will define how things move forward.

Yeah didn't France vote for Qatar bc they made a multi billion euro deal for Airbus airplanes? Their investment funds are worth hundreds of billions (Qatar like 400, Saudi 514), no one can compete with that.

Unfortunately these countries will use their political pressure to get their way. A lot wanted this government to condemn the Qatari's during the World Cup. But they were also the ones providing us with significant amounts of Gas during a time of shortage, so how could they talk out against them?

Bryant Also the Western countries want these Arabic states to align with them rather than China/Russia so the issue does become quite complex. In order to align with them these Arabic countries will expect them to turn a blind eye to other things.
