Yeal I feel the same. Unfortunate today but there was a performance in there. The rest is just margins. He could play like this in the next game and easily walk away with a brace or a hattrick.

Whole game was like that TBH. About the same level as the last couple, maybe even better because we were on top for pretty much the whole thing but people seems to feel it was worse I guess because we scored less?

Apart from the mistake by Ramsdale they created pretty much nothing of note though. Never felt they had a goal in them at all.

100%. Him and Lokonga. Its great to have midfielders who's first instinct isn't to slow it and play safe passes. I'm dreading Xhaka coming back.

He's still a net positive. Reminds me of young Eboue, still full of running and enthusiasm. Not convinced he'll mature into much more than he is but right now what he's offering is enough.

It makes such a difference to have a player with his high technical ceiling in there, doesn't it.

A lot of nonsense has been said about Maitland-Niles over the last two years, but barring Partey I think he's our best midfielder right now. There's no way he should be riding the bench behind guys like Xhaka and Lokonga.

Those were just baseless rumours from people who agrees with Arteta to sideline AMN imo. He's had good and bad games but most of the time can't fault his effort. I just love his technical ability. The pass for Laca in the first half, most of our CMs other than Lokonga can't do that. He needs to be given more games imo

I'll take the 3 points, Watford barely created anything but you always worry about a dodgy goal with Ramsdale nearly gave them. Should have been much more comfortable than it was, even without playing particularly well we should have scored 3 or 4. Lets chalk this off as an off day for Auba. Only real concern is a 10 min spell towards the end where we didn't press them at all. I guess legs must have gone, Martinelli and Elneny helped when they came in.

Dodgy goal in terms of sportsmanship but I'll take it.

He was good. I worried for that central midfield pairing but hats off to Ainsley he was largely the reason why it held up.

AMN had a good game but there've been a bunch of false dawns with him. Not all on him to be fair but one decent game isn't enough to make sweeping statements, he's been good on the ball and made some interceptions but didn't make himself available for a ball so many times, Lokonga who's younger and less experienced did that a lot more.

I'd start him at Anfield with Partey because he's more press resistant than Lokonga and we'll be more on the back foot but for games against shit teams like Newcastle, United or Southampton it should be Sambi back in the team.

Yeah I agree to be fair, they were going down and staying down all game, I think Dennis in particular spent more time on the deck than on his feet. It's about time we stopped being so naïve about these things.
