Yeah he's not dumb, just because you can't always pick the right decision in a high pressure situation doesn't make you dumb especially in his case where he has barely any top flight experience.

Final ball is no where good enough as a winger now. Its his biggest issue as a full back along with concentration/decision making.. Having said that, there is a hell of a lot to work with there and he has improved quite a bit in the short time he has been here.. Its pretty amazing how nearly all our new signings have settled in so quickly. Inspite of Arteta ofcourse.....

So what’s up with KT? We were talking about him being Captain worthy barely 2 months ago. Is it just his fitness? He looked to be seriously gassed in the 2nd Half yesterday, but even more concerning is his defending. It’s poo. Shapes up all wrong and gets blown by often. Having to carry the load after Martinelli was sent off didn’t help of course, but he doesn’t look as solid to me as he once did. Head and squeezed up shoulders above Tavares still mind, but he has to step it up a bit.

Yeah, for some reason he looks very mechanical of late. He wasn't the most agile when we signed him, but he made up for it with his power, speed and determination. Has regressed both defensively and offensively. I really hope it's just down to fitness issues, but it's not looking very promising at the moment.

His 1 v 1 defending has always been dodgy especially up against tricky wingers. He's also one of these players that need to be 100% fitness wise to look good.

That being said, he's dependable and his base level game is fine.

Tierney can’t work angles well. Too one footed and not agile enough to wriggle his way out of things.

he compensated his lack of subtlty with the ability to blow past people and whip an accurate cross or cutback. that and a constant overlapping threat is all we really need from him. it does feel like alot of defenses have him sussed when he's on the ball, his push and run isn't as effective as when he first arrived. the injuries have made him a bit of explosion, like he doesn't want to fully extend himself. hopefully he doesn't drift in the bellerin zone

Yeah. He is a bit one dimensional but that is not necessarily a bad thing as a fullback as long as you are good at what you do, which he has been for the most part. Seems to have dropped of a bit latey probably due to fitness.

I like Tierney and I am not bothered by his current weak form, but I reckon there's gonna be a conversation taking place this summer if an actual bid materialises. The injuries are a bit of a concern and I think that's why he's starting to look choppy on the pitch, the explosiveness isn't there at the moment. Like Gazza says it always feels like he's one more knee injury away from following Bellerin down a mountain.

I hope we keep him though. It's worth a lot in itself to have good players that actually want to play for Arsenal even when the chips are down. We usually end up with one of the two other types: either we have players who are good but want to leave when things are bad, or we get the likes of Jenkinson who are barely any better than pulling an average fan from the stands on match day.
