All those you've named have been in horrible form for a while now. Bar Hummels who's been really good for Dortmund this season no big name omissions, lacking in CM should've really brought someone like Wolfsburg's Arnold or Rode who's even good enough to start this season but that would've been too leftfield for Flick.

Adeyemi has absolutely no business there, looks like a non league footballer this season. Well deserved for Fullkrüg and Moukoko, Bella-Kotchap is just the customary kid for the future that goes to every WC and probably won't see any minutes.

Botman didn't make the Netherlands squad, that's a surprise. Gravenberg (that Bayern move really killed him), Malen and Danjuma misses out too.

Other surprising omission includes Keita Balde (Senegal), Renato Sanches, Jota (Portugal)

No surprises in Argentina squad and looks very strong. Portugal also low key dark horses, very talented and balanced squad

Uruguay squad looks decent too. They’ll have to make a tough call on Suarez/Cavani though.

Not at all surprised by Malen's exclusion. He has been extremely underwhelming IMO at Dortmund.

Danjuma missing out is a surprise for me though.

Gosens has proved to be a Gasperini system player who does not excel outside of the Atalanta setup (like many more before him). He can barely get a minute at Inter right now.

Jota's injury has ruled him out as there is no chance of him fully fit by the time group stages begin.

I can just sit there and imagine Rishi saying find me the Gayest MP we've got, I will send them. Then again that said MP also happens to be Sports Minister!

southgate is a really unimaginative coach. he picks some of these guys come hell or high water. like how is phillips playing when he's barely kicked a ball this season?

rice has been impressive though. everywhere defensively and contributing a decent amount with his forward passing. still feel he has a another level to unlock if he developed in our system

Gazza M In his defence, there’s a real lack of talent in that position in this England crop. Guess he didn’t fancy Rice in a single pivot, not that he ever really uses that.

Rice has been very good.

Think it will be an inspired Ukraine team playing with a lot of heart tomorrow and I don't want that Mykolenko lad hacking away at Saka. I'll be pretty disappointed Southgate starts Bukayo tommorow after playing him the whole game the other day.

People having a go at Southgate for playing his best player in a must win qualifier is hilarious.

Same people will call Southgate a bum if he didn't play Saka and England failed to qualify.

To me the real underlying point is: fuck England if their football interests ever don't coincide with Arsenal's.
