Pretty unreal how his career went, he was a Ballon d'Or level of talent winning four league titles with Lyon then went to play second fiddle to Ronaldo and fighting it out with Higuain, the latter going on to generate 150m+ in transfer fees break Serie A records and retire in the US as a 20 stone barrel. Benzema in the mean time in 2017/18 scored five league goals as Madrid's starting striker, one more than Laca has for us in his worst ever season.
Then after all these years Benzema still manages to fulfill the obvious potential from his Lyon days and become the undisputed best player in the world. Goes to show how easy it is to dismiss players when most of the time team setup and most importantly coaching are far more important to get the best out of a player.
