Solid thinking, and I'd add what do Partey / Odegaard need? and who needs "something" more?
Earlier this year I was worried that Xhaka was going to restrict Partey, but I think that hasn't been the case. If anything, it's only injuries and a medicore CB pairing that has held Partey back.
Does Odegaard need something specific for that other CM? He'll likely be ahead of them, so does he want a Ramsey (all action, able to catch up to play, and scoring threat)? or a Cazorla (who can tie everything together deep and keep Odegaard higher up field)?
Of the three positions, I would rank the "linkage" of our CM decision based primarily off Odegaard, then our CF, and finally what Partey needs.
