It really is. He has no real standout qualities, but is good at a lot of things - and he looks a smart, hardworking kid too. It's hard to tell his level without seeing him up against top players.

Just watched this video of Cody Gakpo: he really is a Alexander Isaak clone. Which means if the interest in Gakpo is real, and it seems a bit of a random one to make up, we might be searching for a striker with Isaak's profile.

Maybe we get Gakpo now and Issak in the summer? It seems unlikely Isaak will leave this month.

He has hardly played as a striker though in his career. Its like playing Pepe up front.

Or buying Kulusevski and playing him up front. If we want Gakpo we will want him as a winger.

78 matches for PSV and only played less than 5 matches up front as false 9 when Eran Zahavi is out. Always played LW for PSV and Netherlands. Not sure what makes you confident he can be converted all of a sudden

I've only wathched a few videos of hhim, but I would stunned if clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool didn't view him long-term as a centre forward.

I can get behind doing this in Jan if we change the CF role rather than expecting him to play back to goal as seen with Laca.

Likewise if we are looking for someone to improve our direct goal threat I'd still consider a move for Gabigol IF we were prepared to change our CF role. Whilst we are seeing stories about players not wanting to join now in mid-season or that they are not sure if signing for us is a good move atm, there have been stories that Gabigol wants to redeem himself in Europe to be part of the WC squad, so he may be more likely to want to prove something.

Complete houseboat link though since no way in hell Napoli sell him, much as I like him I'd wait and see how he recovers too. That injury vs Inter was life altering, his eye literally popped out when his orbital bone broke.

Osimhen is the one I'd get too. Only striker in Italy with world class potential imo. Vlahovic runs like an old man already, he's a knee injury waiting to happen, and Lauraro is too limited by his lack of speed and his loose dribbling. Barring injuries Osimhen is going to be awesome though. Absolute champagne player. They'll wire his face back together and he'll shrug this off. The link is houseboat but I really want us to sign him now.

Actually there's Leao too. I don't know where his ceiling is going to be but he just oozes talent. He's being slept on. I would love to take him off Milan.
