I'm just going to stop before it sounds like I'm tearing into him, because that was not my intention at all here. I've already said I think we should go for it if there's an opportunity because the potential upside is too big not to.
Similarly, I don't want it to sound like I'm putting Isak down too much. I think he's a phenomenal talent, and I'd be jumping for joy if we signed him.
I basically agree with Goon: Vlahovic is quite a conventional striker. Right foot or not, he scores all kinds of goals, is powerful and quick, and has a real knack for knowing how to find space and get on the end of things in the box. I get the Piatek comparison, but he never really registered with me because I never saw anything in him when I watched him. I do in Vlahovic. I think he will keep banging goals in for years to come, and he looks like he has the hunger to get better and better.
Isak could be anything when he's fully developed. I just feel there's so much there that it's going to be a task to bring it all together and fashion a super efficient, elite goalscorer. I keep harping on about Henry, but I feel the comparison is apt - he was always going to be great regardless, but if he didn't re-find Wenger at 22 years of age, I'm not sure he becomes one of the greatest strikers of all time. Isak will not be Henry, but, similarly, I think he needs the right coach and environment to develop and improve on what he has to do all the great stuff he does with the ball outside the box, but also help him figure out what he needs to work on to put the ball in the net 25 times a season from inside the box.
