2026 + 1 year option for Tomyiasu. Compared to Ben White’s 2028 + 1....means we don't trust him 100%. I like that from the club. If next season is more of the same...if lol. 2025 sell.

HomeSteak I'm sure he's on relatively more modest wages than White. This could end up a brilliant manoeuvre as he's versatile and he's a contender to start when fit.

Wonder which of Zinchenko or Kiwior may be sold in summer. I think we shouldn't keep both, but it's tricky to guess Arteta's view.

Considering his injury problems wise not to give him a very long deal. Glad he has signed up and hopefully he can stay injury free because he will come in very useful in the run in.

Burnwinter I'm not so sure we sell either (unless we bring someone else in too). I'd still see Kiwior as key CB cover and Zinchenko (until replaced, maybe that's Timber but I'm not sure) plays a unique role at LB.

I see where you're both coming from but in Kiwior, Zinchenko, Timber we've got three starters who will crave and need minutes at left back.

When there's three established competitors for one spot, one generally ends up featuring very rarely. Unless this man on the shelf has a strong mindset (eg Tomiyasu) his football degrades and he's devalued.

No problem if one of the three is a proper academy player or an aging fringe player. But if we have extra depth in the form of prime players we usually waste talent and money.

Just keep them all and don't add anyone. Forward and midfield need most work and hopefully Timber will be like a new signing.

Tomi, White, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Zinchenko is 7 defenders for 4 positions. 4 of them are versatile too so should be enough even though 2 are injury prone 🫠. In emergencies play a youth.

Gone are the days of watching all our players’ contracts wind down, being held hostage by players and losing players for free. Just a well run place that our good players want to remain in.

Qwiss do we have too many defenders? If I recall, first part of this season, there was a lot of anxiety about having too few defenders once Timber got injured and Tomi was tomiing.

I'd be open to selling Zinchenko and replacing him with a development project if we got offered a lot of money for him, but I'd also be perfectly happy going into next year with our current 7 senior defenders. In addition to a lot of talent, we've got a nice mix of skills and styles. (Given that the one thing we won't be looking for is an overlapping left back.)

Zinchenko's had a bit of a down season, don't think it makes sense to sell him now. He's a good character, I would keep him around. Agree that we should keep this group at the back intact and not mess with it. Top priorities are a Partey replacement, a winger, and a center forward.

Burnwinter White has played through injury this season. Well known. Tomi and or Dutch boy can cover him next season so he doesn’t break down.

Kiwior primarily the backup LCB - he’s mainly playing LB because our other options are crocked.

Which is exactly why by i’d sell Zinny personally. Get a decent fee and buy someone in there who can stay fit.

Given Timber will be returning from an ACL and Tomi's injury record, I'd like us to hold on to all of our defenders until at least the Jan transfer window. See how things are shaping up then.

Claudius we've had a season with a considerable amount of defensive injuries and we've been ok. I'd say we've the correct number of defenders but our issue is that Tomi and Zinny are very injury prone. Add Timbers likely to have his ups and downs and one of the injury prone guys needs to be replaced by some more reliable depth. Tomi just signed a new contract. If Arteta saw a use for Zinchenko in midfield and his versatility became a factor he might be worth keeping but as it is I'd move him on. Feels like the team has out grown him a bit too. We've generally looked better when Tomi and even Kiwior have played left back.
