Most expensive backup keeper ever?
I've read some good articles/comments about him being a stand up guy and a fan favourite previously. Which is genuinely great and shouldn't be discounted.
But are there any attributes/stats that's worth getting excited over too?
He's pretty decent 1v1. Have the Schmeichel star fish trait.
Very poor positionally, terrible technique on shot stopping and shaky in the air. Weak at low shots. These are the areas that need improvement

A good analysis of his strengths/weaknesses in this twitter thread.
Arteta pretty much confirm it in his press conference much earlier
Says he’s comfortable with his feet. No doubt that was a focus when scouting him
sigh.
hope he surprises us all. his trajectory can only go upward from here...
Welcome to The Arsenal lad.
I think we're going to need him this season, as I can see Leno's form sliding.
Welcome and good luck.

Fair enough, he's young enough to work on those aspects by the time he wins the number 1 spot.
Welcome Aaron. Don’t let the haters get you down. England’s Number 2! Or possibly number 3.

Was a great interview tbf. Loved his attitude and I think Tet is right about how fans might respond to his character.
Shit signing.
Not Tambourine Man though.

Why not give him a chance though? Why take a position before he even gets to pull on his gloves for us? Have you closely followed his career prior to him joining us?
Absolutely didn't want this signing, but everyone should start off with a clean slate so from now on he's not shit unless he proves for us that he is. Let's hope he never does.
Certainly speaks well, and seems like a genuinely good lad. Surprised at his confidence too, and I'm intrigued to see what he's like with the ball at his feet now after he bigged himself up on that front. Looking forward to watching him in general.
Wish him all the best and hope he develops into the next Seaman for us. Haven't watched him that much, but agree with Clrnc about his shot-stopping technique. From whatever little I have seen, the number of times he parries the ball back into the area rather than wide is way too many.
We are going to destroy his ego and self-esteem. I mean, 6-7 losses in a row and the guy's morale will be non-existent
