Tbh Ozil in 2012 was unbelievable - on par with Xavi and Iniesta that season. But he was never the leader - he'd turn a 8/10 team performance to a 9 or 10/10 performance. He couldn't swing a game like Odegaard has done a few times.

Ode has def the better temperament and personality/leadership/mentally/professionalism or whatever you want to call it but Ozil higher ceiling technically imo.

Ozil in first half of 2015/2016 (esp Bournemouth at home when he was unplayable) is still the best player ive ever seen live.

Ozil v Leicester at home 2018 and Ode v West Ham away 2021 are prob the best two individual performances I’ve seen from Arsenal players in last 10 years.

The standout best footballer—that's footballer, not goalscorer, leader, runner, or other—in a squad of incredibly talented players. But fully focused on the overall result. I'm sure the other players love training with this fella. With him as captain we have a meritocracy of football itself, it's underrated.

Even at Ozils best he'd turn in plenty of poor performances. Over his whole Arsenal career he had more shit games than great ones. Odegaard right now is levels above what Ozil was for us.

Pepe LeFrits Ode is the best post invincibles player. He has a rare combination of everything. Ice cold, hardworking, efficient, skilful and creative.

On Ozil, to be fair, you need to go back to Madrid to see him at his best. We never had enough good players to get the best out of him. Mourinho hated him because he didn’t defend with physicality, but offensively he was a beast
