This guy has level 100 skill. You just don’t notice it because it’s used only as necessary. No frivolous flamboyance
Claudius
I do think he can go to another level yet but utilising it more though. But that will come as both he and the team become progressively assertive.
Beautiful.
after a hot-and-cold pre-season he was brilliant vs Forest
Just me thats been noticing a resemblance lately? Deservedly in the 22/23 tots, should be getting on the score sheet this weekend.
Brilliant player. How many times has he took it upon himself to make something happen when we get slapped against the run of play? Truly leads by example.
Guy is an absolutely great character and leader on top of his undeniable talents. What a perfect pick for captain by Arteta.
This season will take over from KDB as the elite AM in the league.
Claudius I actually think KDB is on the downward slope now. Still brilliant, but he's 32 not and is already injured for the next couple months. Ode certainly has the making of a top AM, and is only 24. And he's club and national team captain.
Claudius Already thought he was better than KDB last season.
Was Gundogan that truly won Citeh the league
Top, top footballer. It's that muscle memory. His ball striking isn't infallible, but if the Saka or Havertz chances had fallen to him in some unlikely dimension, he would likely have eaten both.
Burnwinter think back to when he first arrived. He was seen as too timid. Combination of Arteta fixing offense and the player taking more responsibility. He dribbled halfway across the field just so he could make himself a shot at the top of the box yesterday. You wouldn’t see that two years ago.
Claudius absolutely, he was young then though and he's matured extremely well. I didn't know why Arteta made him captain but you can see it now, he's an absolute leader on the pitch. The responsibility really suits him.
Claudius There was something a bit uncanny about how Arteta whispered about thirty words in Øde's ear immediately before the resumption of play, and then he scored in thirty seconds.
Watched the game again today. This guy Ode has to be my favourite post invincibles player - that includes Judas and Cesc. As @Qwiss has mentioned, he’s a wonderful leader on the field. I loved how he scored a big goal and immediately told the team to get back to business. And there’s nobody who makes me more comfortable when he’s on the ball than this guy. You just know the ball will be safe and positive things will happen.
Claudius watched the highlights again last night too and I think the brilliance of that second goal has been a bit overlooked since the match because of the drama of the late goals but it was perfect from start to finish. Amazing football. United could only dream of scoring a goal that good.
Qwiss that move and the Saka move were pure champagne football. Once we click, we will be lovely
Qwiss It was bloody lovely wasn't it
Qwiss the 2nd goal? The corner? Or the play before that
Claudius Was annoyed he didn't finish that, but come to think of it it was a blessing in disguise.
So that the United fans can suffer the agony of celebrating wildly for an offside goal to be disallowed and then that double whammy at the end.
Clrnc 2nd goal of the game. Ode's equaliser. Whole move and finish.
