I mean, you can expect it all you want, it’s up to the player to actually adapt and add the needed elements to his game. Recall that Trossard essentially took Martinellis position. He wasn’t always first choice on the wing, until he added defensive discipline whilst retaining his ability to impact in the final third with clutch goals and combine seamlessly with his full back without having to drift central and get into another players space. That’s not easy. The Belgian is just super intelligent.
If Eze can step up his game this way, I’d be very impressed.

Absolutely one of my favorite players in the squad these days. When you think tricky wingers you don’t necessarily think about him but his dribbling one v one to beat his fullback and ability to put in a great cross is top level.
