I disagree completely and think putting that on anyone, whether it's Odegaard, Sake or Jesus, is setting them up to fail. I think we need to get away from that Alexis type model where any single individual needs to carry you.
In games like yesterday you don't need someone to carry you, what you need is the team as a collective to remain a lot calmer. White and Ramsdale made a couple of poor choices and then allowed Palace out and after that quite a few in the team started making poorer, slower choices. That includes Odegaard and he definitely needs to adapt better to these sorts of games, but by no means does it mean he himself could have turned it around. Case in point, there was a moment in the second half where he went to press, Jesus and Saka joined him but the rest of the team was ever so slightly too deep which basically meant it wasn't that hard for Palace to break through it.
