The great thing about Ode is he has consistency written all over him I reckon. There's a method to what he does and it feels like he has it figured. Here's hoping I'm right, because it's a genuine game changer for us if so.

Yup that's the key for me. He doesn't disappear often and isn't a luxury player like Ozil often give us the feeling of playing with 10 man. He works hard and impose himself everywhere, wins back possession and is fluid as well in everything he does. He is also super in tight spaces, balls stick to him like magnet and theres all sort of passes in his locker. Very hard to dispossess him at all.

He really is a game changer.

So much fun to watch yesterday, as he has been for most of the last few games. The changes of direction, the passing, the close control, the way he's at the heart of everything good about us. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, he's the closest we've had to Santi Cazorla since the little magician went back to Spain. Love him.

Yeah the Cazorla comparisons aren't 100% either but much more apt than ones to Özil, he's far more involved in early build up and in terms of work rate closer to the Spaniard than the latter.

Interesting. Think he has ingredients of many former stellar orchestrators, but Rosicky and Özil resonate a bit more than the others to me. I thought Özil got involved a fair bit early in the build ups, giving a pass and then running up to come into final phases like an orchestrator should. Perhaps due to recent tactical reasons, Ødegaard is sometimes closer to touchline than the centre circle, not too dissimilar to Özil. They way he scans, and the angle of which he prefers to do it I also find similar to Özil. Some the dinks for one remind me of Sant, Cesci.

The way he glides past players and then plays a perfect pass without telegraphing it in any way reminds me of Iniesta sometimes and that's the highest praise I can give a midfielder. Absolutely fantastic player and it's a joy to watch him right now. If he can learn to use his right foot more, he could genuinely be the best midfielder in the world in my opinion. Been a while since I thought so highly of an Arsenal player, Wilshere was the last one and Cesc before him. And Saka's not far behind!

I keep hearing on about Odegaard like he's some chance-creating machine.

Yet has 5 league assists in 18 months.

Kulusevski has more assists in 12 less months and has the same if not better work rate.

Might have something to do with Kane and Son being better finishers than Lacazette and Saka. Now I know what goon meant with the more cartoonish views, I'm hungover and the first things I have to read are that Smith Rowe has a school playground style and needs to be binned, which I won't even dignify with an answer, and that Odegaard is apparently not creating enough chances, because he has 5 assists. Fucking hell.
