Funnily enough although he missed the pen I thought yesterday was the first time we saw him back close to his best. And even then he took a lump at the end of the first half and was limping for the last few minutes and wasn't clear he'd come back on for the 2nd half. He's the least of our worries.

Much better today as everything went through him, he really dictated play in a big game for the first time in a while. Reallly needs to remember how to score a goal though, that miss at the end could have been so costly.

HomeSteak Rice doesn't step up in big games as much as Ode. Ode takes way more responsibility than anyone else in midfield. Did you not see how shit our midfield was without him?

Rice is ok, that's about it. He doesn't lift anyone or show any leadership. I keep waiting for him to step up in Ode's and Sakas absence but it's not happening.

We can't even agree here what Rices best position is because he's not excelling anywhere.

Qwiss Yesterday for example Rice was the one creating for us, rudimentary as he is with the ball, he gets it and pushes forward, tries to make something happen. Odegaard was hiding, as he has been all season long. But he will have a give and go with someone on the right, turn on his left and put in a cross that Havertz will make little to no contact with and the stats will say he created a chance. He is immune to criticism at the moment for some reason, fair enough, won't be long now. No place to hide for him anymore.
This is just my point of view, the standards should be higher for him. Because who he is in the team, his wages and all that. 1 goal and 2 assists is shit from him, period. Then you add every single corner kick or free kick he takes you can just turn the TV off. He will no doubt put in a floating cross that nobody can do anything with even if it somehow beats the first man, but hey, another chance created that we can post on twitter about. Abysmal season for now.

Saka went down, he needed to step up and he did not. he went down a few lvls.

Øde and Saka exchange more passes than any two players in our league.

With Saka out and the rest of our forwards pretty low on verve and quality it's impressive Ødegaard's still impacting matches as much as he is.

No issues with Rice, but he's nowhere near as important to us.

HomeSteak I thought Rice had one of his best games in a while for us yesterday but he created 1 chance, same as Odegaard who looked a bit off. Compare it to last week in the derby and Ode does way more and created 10 chances. Thats a bigger game and Ode dominated it. Pretty much anything Rice creates is from corners, which he's great at but it doesn't make him captain material. Just because he was captain at West Ham people think he should be captain for us. He's given no real reason to make him captain her over Odegaard.

TBH the whole idea of taking the armband off Odegaard is barmy anyway.
