When we were linked with him a fair few of our fans seem to turn their nose up. I won't lie I wasn't that excited about links, thought he was a good player but didn't think he was a game changer.

JazzG I was happy with the links actually. he would've probably ended benching martinelli, and been a capable backup for saka. always thought he was a good player who just needed the right environment to find consistency. that was one where you couldn't blame the club as he only wanted barca. he's been a top 5 forward in Europe this season.

I watched the real-barca highlights, and I can't recall if it was their 4th or 5th, but it started with the left back playing a brave pass into midfield to a tightly marked pedri, and pedri playing a one touch pass in behind for raphinha, who carried the ball, shook the defender and slotted it in. it was invincibles levels of pace and directness. liverpool often put together those types of vertical sweeping moves as well. I just remember thinking 'we can't or won't do 90% of what it took to score that kind of goal.' I sucks that tetball doesn't orgaanically produce this type of simple attacking football

Contrary opinion though: we focus on scoring in congestion based on volume of chances (and set pieces), because that's what we need to be good at to be dominant.

We're in a league where the average club is better than ever at recovery defending and defending deep and compact.

Hence Artetaball is pressing, territorial domination, 5–6 players joining the attack and spreading themselves for width, spamming the ball basketball style "around the key" looking for spaces to open up.

It's a logical response to the conditions in the league, and barring our lack of Mo Salah we are the best team in the league.

Burnwinter but this isn't the only game we need to play. We are inadequate when facing a high or midblock press, which comes against better teams or teams we've already broken the deadlock against with our pillow-smother system.

Sicario2 — “unreal” would be a massive over statement.

He’s stepped in and performed well once Camavinga got hurt and Tchouemeni was moved to CB. Alongside Valverde he’s built a strong midfield pairing, but to be “unreal” you would think he’d have more than 0 goals and 0 assists. Sure, his role isn’t to create as that’s primarily left to their wingers but Valverde is on 5g/2a and Modric on 1g/3a.

Sicario2 he was shit when he was here. Has been unremarkable whenever I've seen him for Real since.

If he's so unreal these days you'd have to wonder why he's still only a squad player at Real.

If we are to reassess of a player from Emery era Iwobi is having a great season.

Sicario2 I did like him and he was really good for R.Madrid a few years back. His problem was he didn't have the legs for the PL. Kind of like how Jorginho is now for us, you can see the quality but doesn't have the legs.

Tactics

Raphina has been amazing this season but I don't think he'll replicate that form for us due to our style of play. This is the most direct Barcelona team I have ever seen and that suits his game.
