I would go all in for Lautaro , we need a killer up front .

dunno where Anzac finds these sources 😆

inter have turned down 100m from Chelsea for lukaku, so they seem to be pretty firm that he's the one they want to keep. lautaro is the one they'd consider cashing in on if someone stumps up the cash

Sky Sport Italia | Inter would not have any intention of letting Lautaro Martinez go unless their valuation is met [offer around €70M]. #afc #intm [via @SempreIntercom]

No way we pay that...with Lacazette, Auba, Eddie still here. Abraham it is.

Chelsea offering them massive money for Lukaku too and they turned it down. They don't seem like they are interested in cashing in. Plus I see no indication he'd want to come here.

Well, not interested in cashing in on Lukaku. I'd assume most clubs have players that are off the table.

Inter said very early on that Lukaku and Barella are the only ones who are 100% not for sale, also Lukaku just had his best ever season. Think if we really wanted to we could tempt Inter and Lautaro by giving them more money than they could expect elsewhere

they still need 1 more major sale, and everyone bar lukaku and barella are on the table for the right price

Basically we are like some china or arab club now. Need to overbid and overpay top players to attract them to come for a huge payday, but risk having their motivation drop once they are on the level of wage.

Whatever though, if we can manage to attract a player as good as Lautaro and Maddison then I can handle watching Xhaka and Elneny for another season.

Yeah, it feels like we're trying to offset poor historic scouting through bigger investments to remedy the holes that are subsequently gaping in our squad.

Think Party is a great example of a player we scouted for years but didn't pull the trigger on until he was worth £50m. Same for Lacazette too.

No real need to compare us to Chinese clubs. We're in exactly the same boat as United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and City when it comes to how much we have to pay.

In terms of paying the selling club, yes. In terms of salary, no. If you think that

  1. being successful makes you more attractive to players and
  2. a big salary is a positive for players

then the conclusion surely is that if you want a player to choose you instead of a more successful team, in general you have to pay them more.

Then why are all of those clubs' wage bills so high?

Not trying to be difficult, I get what you're saying, but at a certain point it costs what it costs, regardless of success.

Because they have a lot of world class players?

Are you trying to argue the point that if you give a top player the chance to sign for any of those 4 English clubs and us on equal wage now, they will choose us?

Obviously not. There's far more to it than that, though.

Offer them Laca and some cash and get this done. We don't have time to waste.

To be fair Conte likes his older players.

Would love Lautaro. Reminds me of Tevez: Hardworking, tigerish and a quality finisher.

Rather we went for someone like Vlahovic if we are gonna pay big money for a striker from Italy. I haven't seen much of Martinez but from what I'm reading and a bit of Youtube scouting I'm not sure how he fits in here. Like Ricky says he looks like someone who'd excel ahead of a technically good midfield rather than our team.

Also unless we move Auba/Laca I can't see us signing anyone.

We need to move quickly , Inter will not reject Chelsea a second time if they come with a huge offer. If that happens Martinez is staying

Chelsea are going back with 120/130m. I'd be stunned if inter didn't take that deal for a 28 year old

the spookiest part is it would also mean lautaro is definitely staying and Abraham is definitely available

Yep, this is whats gonna happen. Lukaku to Chelsea, Abraham to us.

Hadn’t really seen much of him beyond goal scoring clips. Saw this vid with more of his game outside and around the box.

He’s got magic in his feet. We need that. Especially in congested attacking areas

He looks fun in the pre inter videos. Obviously he looks good but I've no idea how he fits unless you put him at 10. He doesn't pull away with pace he has to keep turning to create space for himself. A short guy up top that's not rapid like Sanchez was, could be a disadvantage to the team.

When you spend that kind of money you expect a signing that takes the team up a level. This guy looks like he's had his break out season and he has the same combined goals and assists as Mkhitaryan this season. And that's with the team adapted to him he has Lukaku as a battering the CBs in front and scaring them with his pace and strength so he can just drift into the space that makes. If he can here he be battered by prem CBs and he would have to do the work Lukaku does.

If he was at a smaller club and the price was 20m I'd understand it. But £70m just seems very over priced. That's Sancho money who got 20 goals and assists last season. And can play all across the front and is only 20.

I'd agree with that. undersized players need something else extra special to make up the difference in this league. aguero and hazard had gigantic arses coupled with low centres of gravity, and explosive acceleration/finishing. I don't really see that with lautaro. he'd be a good player in patches, but the lack of physicality combined with our track record of criminally mis-using players gives me pause when we're paying 70m.

Mate, we paid 50m pounds for Ben White after a season of PL. 70m euros for Lautaro would be a much better deal on paper.

As if he would come to us though. One of the hottest striker out there Barca wanted to break their bank to sign him.

Pretty sure Barcas bank is already well and truly broken.

Given Barca's scouting recently I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Sky Italia and other sources now reporting that Inter will not/have no need to sell Lautaro as Lukaku to Chelsea is almost done.

Inter will receive a massive 128 million for the Belgian solving most of their financial worries.

At least they didn't get Haaland.
