Given what they've been doing since, if it brings us back into the major trophy winners' executive washroom, I'd be inclined to forgive them.
Aside from his dodgy history, it would've been such a bloody mess for us, far worse than Chelsea if Usmanov had become our owner. I wonder if David Dein sees the silver lining in having failed to make it happen while he's out trimming the roses at his manor. Wenger's role, and Gazidis's, in all that are also cast in a different light.
