Thing about White is he came in and played a very solid season at CB while suffering plenty of criticism amplified by his £50m fee, then switched without missing a beat to being a solid top four RB when Arteta brought Saliba into the fold.
He's never complained about how the club uses him either directly or indirectly, plays through injury all the time, accepts instruction calmly, maintains concentration diligently, and always does his job well despite any imperfections.
The "mentality monster" bit of what he contributes is probably worth £50m by itself. We could "upgrade" White with a player who was more talented in any regard on paper and still not improve.
